Throughout lockdown we launched a free home delivery service to protect our customers and colleagues during the pandemic, this was intended to be temporary but through customer demand we have worked hard to introduce a permanent enhanced service.
As we look towards reopening it has been clear that we cannot provide a delivery service whilst trading as normal, we're a small business and a small team, we simply don't have the capacity.
After looking at various solutions we come to the conclusion that purchasing a refrigerated van and employing a delivery driver would allow us to continue delivering.
We understand that lockdown restrictions are easing and people are less likely to be home all day, we wouldn't expect anyone to wait in for 7 hours for their order so have introduced delivery windows and live tracking information, both of which which will be sent by email and/or text on the day before deliveries are due.
Of course all this comes with extra cost, the last thing we wanted to do was charge a fee but we couldn't find a viable alternative. The fee covers around half of the extra cost which makes it possible to continue delivering. We cover the rest of the costs and make absolutely no profit from the delivery fee.
Deliveries are free within 1 mile of our shops and for all orders over £80, we are also offering free pickup from our Penyffordd shop, going forward we'll try to find alternative solutions but in the meantime we hope you understand and continue to shop with us.
With our butchers being off the road and back in the shop we intend to further expand the range of products available to order online, keep an eye out for some new products and the return of old favourites in the coming weeks.
